Every great restaurant has someone whose passion brings it to life. At Cafe Filipino Texas, that person is Vilma.

Originally from Cebu, Philippines, Vilma grew up surrounded by family, food, and the traditions that make Filipino culture so welcoming. She learned to cook from her parents, who taught her that preparing a meal is one of the best ways to show love and care for others.

In 2007, she moved to the United States, carrying those family traditions with her and dreaming of one day opening her own Filipino restaurant.

That dream became a reality on June 20, 2026, when Cafe Filipino Texas opened its doors at 121 E. Harwood Road in Hurst, Texas.

But Vilma has another talent that surprises many first-time visitors.

She’s also a singer.

Along with serving authentic Filipino dishes, Vilma performs as the restaurant’s lead vocalist during the restaurant’s live band performances every weekend from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Her performances create a fun, welcoming atmosphere where guests can enjoy great food while listening to live music.

The music doesn’t stop on the weekends.

Open karaoke is available every day, giving every customer the opportunity to step up to the microphone, sing their favorite songs, and become part of the Cafe Filipino Texas experience. Whether you’re an experienced performer or just singing for fun with family and friends, everyone is welcome.
